(2,600 masl – 8,532 feet). Advice in entrance permit step. Transfer to Penitentes ski resort. Dinner and night in hotel.
Day 3: Pententes – Punta de Vacas – Pampa de Leñas
(2,850 masl – 9,348 feet). Transfer to Punta de Vacas. Hike to the first approach camp. Tent night. Full board.
Day 4: Punta de Vacas – Casa de Piedra
(3,400 masl – 11,152 feet). Hike to the second approach camp. Tent night. Full board.
Day 5: Casa de Piedra – Plaza Argentina
(4,200 masl – 15,960 feet). Hike to base camp. Tent night. Full board.
Day 6: Plaza Argentina
(4,200 masl – 15,960 feet). Rest day at base camp. Tent night. Full board.
Day 7: Plaza Argentina – Camp 1 – Plaza Argentina
(5,000 masl – 16,400 feet). Port day to the first altitude camp. Return to base camp. Tent night. Full board.

Day 19: Mendoza City – Airport

Foot
- Socks:
- Merino wool or polypropylene – 2 pairs (warm layer).
- Polypropylene – 1 pair (liner layer).
- Cotton – 2 pairs (to be used in the approach).
- Plastic boots: double or triple, with removable liner. Suggestion: La Sportiva Spantic, Scarpa Phantom Guide.
